Basic Disclosure, Updated Information

Under Section 112 of the Police Act 1997, Disclosure Scotland can only issue one Basic Disclosure Certificate for each application received.  There appears to be some confusion, particularly where an organisation is applying for a certificate on behalf of an individual (with their written consent), using a Basic Disclosure Online (BDO).  In this format, the one, allowable, certificate, is issued to the nominated organisation.  Although the certificate is the property of the individual, they will NOT be issued with a copy.
